The new curriculum includes learning experiences which all stem from the four purposes of the curriculum, which are to develop children and young people as:

• Ambitious, capable learners, ready to learn throughout their lives
• Enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work
• Ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world
• Healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.

We have created our own icons which are displayed on classroom displays and referred to constantly throughout the learning journey by staff and learners…our learners are encouraged to reflect on the dispositions that they have applied and developed through a rich range of learning experiences.  Children are also rewarded with stickers of the icons in their individual books to help reinforce and embed the attributes they are developing.

 

 

 

 

Our aim is to teach the skills of these areas through over-arching topics to create an enriched curriculum for our children.  Pupil voice is at the heart of all our learning experiences; with children choosing and planning topics for their learning journey with their teachers
